Our Moto Range is designed for all vehicles, bikes, trailers, and machinery. It protects the entire vehicle underbody and chassis from rust, corrosion, and electrolysis with a strong barrier coat.

Our Marine Range is designed for boats and any machinery submerged in seawater. It protects from rust, corrosion, and electrolysis just like our Moto Range but also contains marine growth inhibitors to prevent barnacle buildup. It is safe, non-toxic, and marine ecology friendly. Some of its uses include protection for outboard and inboard motors, electrics, propellers, prop shafts, and boat trailers.

Our Outdoor Range is a thinner formula designed for metal, rubber, vinyl, wood, and almost all materials. It can be used on BBQs, sheds, fences, and decking. It provides protection from corrosion and rust, waterproofs surfaces, and prevents mold buildup in woods and vinyls due to its anti-fungal properties.

Lanoguard has been designed for yearly/seasonal applications. It should be topped up at least once a year to ensure continuous protection. Although due to the simple application process there’s no harm in doing an Autumn & Spring application! The product is broken down by UV, so the more it is exposed to sunlight the shorter its life span. Inside box sections or inner chassis for example, it will last longer.

The Lanoguard sprays are almost clear when being applied. This result in a clear coating which is a semi-matte wet look which enhances whatever colour is under it, being transparent allows you to clearly see that rust isn’t forming on the surface, which offers huge value. Inspecting the surface is easy, and it is preferred by MOT testers.

Lanoguard is a safe product to handle and use. It is also non-harmful to animals or the environment, jet-wash resistant, non-perishing, non-conductive, and non-flammable. It is safe to use on rubbers, plastics, and metals without any issues, meaning no masking up is needed, reducing prep time and effort. While it is generally safe, it is recommended to use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling the product for added safety.

Lanoguard is sustainable and does not require any special handling. The primary ingredient of Lanoguard is Lanolin, which is a very ecologically safe and sound base. In fact, an entire dam in New Zealand was moved down river on a base of Lanoguard marine grease, showing how the river authority was not concerned about any toxins being left behind. While Lanoguard is made to be as safe as possible for the user and the environment in which it's used, it’s recommended that a user wears basic PPE such as a face mask and goggles when working on an underbody and applying Lanoguard. This is because it often involves working in a restricted space with small falling debris and working upside down. Gloves are also recommended.

The general rule of thumb is that a little Lanoguard goes a long way, 1.8L of moto spray per application. – is ample coverage for vehicles such as Land Rovers and Pick Up trucks any vehicles over this size we would recommend more than 2L. Click here to look at our range.

Preparation is very minimal - all you need to do is jet wash your vehicle removing any dirt and grime. Make sure you remove any flaking or loose bits of rust, paint or underseal. Sometimes a wire brush can be used if needed to remove flaking bits. Ensure the vehicle is dry before you apply Lanoguard – it doesn’t have to be bone dry, as Lanoguard will displace moisture to an extent, but ensure you do not apply to a dripping wet surface. See our how to apply page here

Whilst Lanoguard can be sprayed on a wet surface, this could potentially impact the effectiveness of the product and reduce its ability to adhere. As such we always recommend leaving a wet surface to dry as much as possible before beginning application for optimal results. Slightly damp is okay, as Lanoguard will displace moisture to an extent – but make sure the surface is not dripping wet.

Lanoguard is great for chassis with surface rust. It has a natural affinity to ferrous metals and will bond to the metal underneath any surface rust, it acts as a barrier by hermetically sealing to the surface keeping oxygen and water out - stopping any rust from developing further.

Lanoguard reaches its final state around 7 to 10 days after application. Day 0 it is “oily” day 3 “soft” and final state is dry to the touch, but you know something is there. Like a candle to feel. Maybe a little softer. It dries to a clear / transparent semi satin wet look and stays that way for some months eventually dulling a little. But always stays clear; and of course, you can jet wash it to clean it back to how it was when you put it on. It is best to not drive the vehicle for 24hours to let it get through the first part of the curing process.

Lanoguard can be applied in cold conditions and indeed in winter. It is ideally applied to a fully dry and preferably warm surface. That said, it is quite happy to be applied in the cold. Additionally, it is ok to apply Lanoguard spray to a slightly damp surface too and will disperse the damp as it cures. Warming the product in a bucket of warm water helps with application especially in cold weather. See here our blog all about winter Lanoguard application

Yes, it has natural properties which will help protect the surface and materials you use it on from the UV of the sun.

Lanoguard prevents and completely stops rust developing further. It will creep, bind, and bond underneath surface rust. It creates a barrier by hermetically sealing to the surface stopping water and oxygen getting in, therefore not allowing rust to develop. Lanoguard doesn’t remove existing rust, but it does bond to the metal surface below – over time it will slowly seep underneath surface rust and push off oxidation. It doesn’t remove rust completely, but it can improve and nourish the surface over time

The Moto Grease is a super-concentrate surface protectant product. It is essentially a thicker version of our spray and is a very useful product for vehicle underbody applications. It provides a heavy-duty protection and a thicker coat – meaning it’s perfect for more vulnerable or prone areas. It’s very easy to apply and is easier if gently warmed (to around 50 to 65 degrees ideally - hand hot) to a thin state and painted on with a brush. It’s recommended to apply grease onto any heavily oxidised or particularly exposed areas (weld seams, nuts and bolts, edges, anywhere moisture can gather). It is ok not to use the grease, but it can certainly help with added protection. See our blog here all about the Moto Grease and its uses

Yes, the grease products can be heated up and cooled down as many times as you need. It won't alter the properties and on a very cold day, it may well be that you prefer to heat it up a couple of times whilst applying it.

Lanoguard is good to use on the engine bay but avoid fan belts. If Lanoguard is applied to the exhaust manifolds it will likely burn off due to the extreme heat, they get up to (Lanoguard is heat resistant to 450 degrees C). We recommend spraying moto spray onto the areas you want to protect then wiping the excess off with a cloth. Or wetting a cloth with Lanoguard and wiping that over the areas you wish to protect.

Yes, you most certainly can. Lanoguard works fine with almost all sprayers, compressors, and applicators. You may find that it uses slightly more product than our trigger sprayer applicators will, but you’ll still get a nice even coverage of Lanoguard which will protect well. We do have a range of sprayers and applicators available on our accessories page

Lanoguard gets its name from lano as in lanolin and guard as in protection. It is made from the oils of the fleece of sheep. The oils are extracted using a scouring process. Lanoguard uses a high-grade lanolin which goes through testing to ensure we get the consistency and the quality of that lanolin. The unique thing about our manufacturing process is that not only are we using high-grade lanolin, we are also using what we call the cleaner part of hydrocarbons and we are developing more and more plant and bio derived solutions for the sprays too. Lots of hydrocarbons are quite toxic or an irritant. What we use are not. So, with the cleaner and greener approach of it all, that allows us to be non toxic and marine ecology friendly. And we’re driving to be more and more so as we evolve our R & D. Crucially we have evolved and developed a unique blending process which allows us to blend more lanolin and a specific type of lanolin into the products, which is a very good thing and quite a difference to our competitors.

We offer Lanoguard remover, which can be used either to freshly applied Lanoguard or long time cured Lanoguard. It can be used to remove any overspray, clean brushes and or spray guns – just rinse through with warm water afterwards. If using to remove cured and large areas we suggest spraying onto the area, leaving for 5 minutes, then jet washing the area and the Lanoguard will come off with it. Thick coated areas may need the remover applied and jet washed twice. Do note, you do not need to remove Lanoguard – you can apply coat-on-coat and simply spray over old Lanoguard treatments. Removal is only really needed if you want a very close up inspection of the underbody, or if you have already done a few years of coat-on-coat and would like to start again. Take a look at Lanoguard Remover here

Lanoguard will prevent cold welding of stainless steel. It does this by preventing the surfaces from coming into contact with each other. It will act as a cold weld prevention barrier, anti corrosion and anti seize agent.

Use the Moto Spray in all areas of exposed metal, especially chain, wheels, sprockets etc. The spray is good for getting in those areas you can’t with a cloth to wipe it on.

  • Do not apply on brake discs or brake pads, as the product is a lubricant and low friction.
  • The spray can be used to protect all the electrics and wiring looms from water and weather ingress.
  • We would not recommend using it on the switch gear (indicator and headlight switches etc.) as it will be slightly greasy to the touch for a while. (Although a light spray on switch gear could help lubricate the inner workings and prevent the workings from corrosion damage , just need to wipe off excess spray around the switchgear).
  • It won’t perish rubber or seals so it’s ok to spray around forks and shocks etc.
  • Applying it is as simple as Spray on and wipe off any excess with a cloth or spray into a cloth and wipe over the parts to protect , no prep is needed although applying when the bike is clean is ideal.

Our Moto Grease is an amazing chain lubricant, protectant and chain life extender (making the chain smoother to drive with, the stretching much less over time and a chain life of up to 3 times longer our customers tell us). The best way to apply this is to warm up the Moto Grease to around 60 degrees Celsius (which is when it just turns to a liquid). It can be gently heated in the Lanoguard pot in a microwave, checking frequently to ensure that it is not overheating, or place the pot in a bowl of hot water etc) . Ideally take the chain off to apply for ease and using a paint brush to brush it on or if the chain can be taken off, put the heated Moto Grease in a shallow tray and pull the chain through and hold the chain up to drip dry for a few minutes. Once dried, you should not experience any “fling off” of the lubricant either. We have a good description from a user of ours as to exactly how he uses it on his GSX-R 1000. In addition the Moto Grease can also be used as a protective anti-corrosive barrier polish for paintwork and chrome works on custom or easy rider choppers or Harley Davidsons etc. For example, use a mutton type cloth to rub and polish off small amounts of the Moto Grease on the handle bars, frame or any other areas which you want shiny and/or a thin coat of weather protection without any tackiness at all. The Moto spray will give a minimum of 6 months protection from date of application and Moto Grease around 12 months. After this time you would need to reapply to ensure continuous protection in optimal conditions. We do however recommend where possible to reapply regularly such as every other month or quarterly as part of your regular maintenance of your motorbike.

Moto Spray and Marine spray are fundamentally similar, but the marine spray focusses on also inhibiting marine growth and reduce effects of Ultra violet which can be harsher in marine environments.

You can use Lanoguard on bare metal. However, it will need more frequent topping up, until you reach a couple of layers over time, and from then on, a year on year coating will suffice. All this said, it is not intended for use on bare metal where the underbody is concerned, rather a sealer for the whole underbody assuming that the underbody is coated already with a protective paint of some sort. If you expose bare metal in preparation, then there are 2 courses you can take, the first is to use the Lanoguard moto grease on the bare metal areas, then the Lanoguard Moto spray to spray over the whole area, or the second is to repair/ repaint the area in a conventional manner with sanding, priming and painting, then Lanoguard Moto Spray once cured when spraying Lanoguard on the whole underbody.

No. If something is galvanised it wouldn’t be necessary to use Lanoguard to protect it because that’s what the Galvanisation is doing for the surface/metal. So, we don’t recommend applying Lanoguard to galvanised surfaces. Additionally galvanised surfaces react differently when painted or coated which deprive it of free flowing air around the surface, in some cases this could cause different chemical reactions which may disfigure the galvanised look and pre-treatment is required to prevent this.
