You can apply Lanoguard on top of the old coat, making top-ups easy and effective. However, if you do not top up yearly, the efficacy of Lanoguard is affected. Exposure to ultraviolet light and oxygen can break down the surface of Lanoguard, weakening its self-healing, non-cracking, acid and alkaline resistance, and waterproof properties. While Lanoguard will continue to protect beyond 12 months, its full effectiveness cannot be guaranteed without yearly top-ups.
